At a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on May 28, a representative of the Vietnam Records Organization (Vietkings) – authorized by the World Records Union (WorldKings) and the World Records Association (WRA) – announced the world record.

The ‘Tam Tra Dieu Bao’ collection is owned by tea master Ngo Thi Thanh Tam, who has spent nearly 30 years searching and collecting more than 1,000 Yixing teapots and cups. This collection has a unique and high-class artistic value.

The Yixing region collection offers an array of gorgeous, intricate designs in unique colors and patterns. It is crafted from a variety of clay types.

Tam carefully selected a collection of teapots crafted by famous artisans from Yixing craft village of Jiangsu province, China, from the Qing Dynasty to the present day. This collection not only has a large size, but it also has remarkable artistic value.

Tam is passionate about amassing teapots and cups. She has been immersed in the world of teapot collecting since 1993, when she was living and working in Taiwan (China).

At first, she only viewed her teapots as a close friend in life. However, encouraged by her friends, the tea master decided to showcase these products to the public. Her hard work paid off when the Asia Book of Records (ABR) awarded her collection ‘Tam Tra Dieu Bao’ recognition in October 2022.

Tam commented, “Vietnamese tea is just as good as that from China, Japan, and Taiwan, but its export value is not reflective of the quality. I hope that one day the value and recognition of Vietnamese tea and tea-related products will be heightened.“
