As part of the activities to mark the 55th founding anniversary of ASEAN, of which Vietnam is a member country, the film week is being co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and related agencies.
Films within the framework of ASEAN Film Week 2022 in Vietnam are being screened at the National Cinema Centre, 87 Lang Ha, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi and CineStar Cinemas 135 Hai Ba Trung, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
The event is a cultural activity aimed at connecting the cultures of ASEAN countries, contributing to building a peaceful, dynamic and stable ASEAN community, and at the same time introducing special works of cinema of ASEAN member countries.
The opening ceremony will take place at 7:30 pm on May 27 at Screening Room No. 1, National Cinema Centre, 87 Lang Ha, Hanoi. The opening film of Film Week is “Dreamy Eyes”. The film, produced by the Galaxy Entertainment and Education Joint Stock Company, and November Films Co., Ltd. in 2019, won the Golden Lotus Award in 2021.
In Hanoi, movie screenings will start at 6 pm and 8 pm from May 27 to June 1, while in Ho Chi Minh City, movies will be shown at the same time on days from May 28 to June 2. Tickets will be distributed at cinemas from Friday, May 27 at the National Cinema Centre, Hanoi and from Saturday, May 28 at CineStar 135 Hai Ba Trung, Ho Chi Minh City.
The organising board has selected seven films from seven ASEAN member cinemas, including “Dreamy Eyes” of Vietnam, “Fear” of Cambodia, “Filosofi Kopi 2: Ben and Jody” (Indonesia), “Dearest Sister” (Lao), “The Journey” (Malaysia), “The Great Myanmar” (Myanmar), and “Pad Thai: The Secret Recipe” of Thailand.
