The top 10 contestants wore the Vietnamese traditional long gown called “ao dai” to express their thoughts on putting an end to violence and war and promoting peace.
Phuong, being an architect, felt heartbroken when she witnessed houses and families being destroyed by war.
People are dying, and children are unable to attend school. Millions of individuals are feeling hopeless because they no longer have a place to call home, she added.
She hoped that her voice would be heard and conflicts would be resolved through conversations instead of violence, so that children can experience the beauty of peace.
“Stop war. Restore peace to humanity!” she added.
Phuong, who is 27 years old and comes from Khanh Hoa Province in south-central Vietnam, was crowned Miss Grand Vietnam 2023 in August of this year.

This is the second time Vietnam has hosted the Miss Grand International pageant, with the first being in 2017 when the crown was also won by a representative from Peru, Maria Jose Lora.
The pageant was initially held in Thailand in 2013, and Myanmar will host the Miss Grand International 2024.
