The Vietnam National Museum of History held an online press conference on the morning of September 15 to introduce technology applications in exhibition activities at the museum.
According to Dr. Nguyen Van Doan, Director of the Vietnam National Museum of History, the public’s demand for cultural enjoyment is increasing day by day. In the context of the COVID-19 epidemic affecting the visits and experiences of visitors, the Vietnam National Museum of History has gradually adapted, applying technology in the display and introduction of exhibitions, increasing the possibility of connecting with visitors, as well as providing information about the archives of rare documents and artifacts kept at the museum.
This also contributes to diversifying activities to create attractive products, offer different experiences, and attract visitors.
During the press conference, the museum’s staff introduced 3 products from technology application which have been put into operation and introduced to the public.
The first is a 3D virtual interactive exhibition themed "National Treasure." The Vietnam National Museum of History is the first museum in Vietnam to apply 3D virtual interactive technology in the introduction of artifacts and documents.
The second product is free online Tourdays, implemented by the Vietnam National History Museum’s Volunteer Club. The first online Tourday was organised on September 12 with the theme ‘Following the flow of history: Dai Viet culture under the Ly and Tran dynasties’.
Less than 24 hours after opening the registration link on fanpage: facebook.com/BTLSQG.VNMH, the event was well received and had garnered interest from the public with nearly 100 attendees, divided into 2 Zoom rooms.
Additionally, "History class" and " I love History club" are effective educational activities attracting the participation of large numbers of students and children. This model has become the "brand" of the Vietnam National Museum of History.
In the context of social distancing, students cannot participate in person, so they have gradually turned to online form.
This is a practical direction of activities, creating a useful playground for students, contributing to the promotion and introduction of the cultural heritage of the nation.
