During the Vietnam-Italy Year 2023, the diverse range of activities has had a positive impact on the friendly relations between the two countries, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy, Duong Hai Hung. These efforts have showcased Vietnam as a friendly, innovative, and progressive nation to Italy, creating new opportunities for cooperation between the two nations.
The success of the Vietnam-Italy Year was also highlighted by Schiavo, the Deputy Director General for Global Affairs and Director for the Countries of Asia and Oceania at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He praised the numerous activities, including high-level visits such as President Vo Van Thuong’s visit to Italy. Italian leaders from various regions, cities, and provinces have shown deep friendship and solidarity with Vietnam, considering Vietnam as a priority country for internationalization efforts in the future.
In response to the growing demand for understanding Vietnam, two additional Vietnamese language departments are scheduled to be opened at Italian universities this year. The Vietnamese Embassy in Italy is also planning various cultural and people-to-people exchanges, as well as economic diplomacy activities such as forums, workshops, roundtable discussions, and talks in multiple cities.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Hung presented the Vietnamese President’s Friendship Order to Maily Anna Nguyen, President of the Italy-Vietnam Fund, and Walter Cavrenghi, General Secretary of the Italy-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce. Both individuals have actively supported the Vietnamese Embassy in strengthening relations with Italian localities and partners, making significant contributions to the growing bilateral ties.
