This year, the competition focused on the main issues discussed at the G20 Summit, including food security, climate change, sustainable development goals, healthcare, weather, climate change, and feminism.
The contestants were required to base their speeches on the theme of the G20 Summit: “One Planet, One Family, One Future”.
The Top 25 participants in the Head To Head Challenge sub-contest participated in a debate at the Bharat Mandapam convention center, the venue for the G20 Summit on February 23.
Mai Phuong, the Vietnamese contestant, was selected as one of the Top 25 participants in the sub-contest, along with representatives from other Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand, and the host country India.
The 71st Miss World pageant took place in New Delhi and Mumbai from February 18, with approximately 130 contestants. The grand finale will be held in Mumbai on March 9.
Phuong, who is 23 years old, won the top prize in the Miss World Vietnam 2022 pageant, surpassing 36 other contestants, and will represent Vietnam in the 71st Miss World pageant.
She is 1.70 meters tall and has measurements of 82-63-92 cm. Currently, she works as an emcee and has appeared on various television programs.
In recent years, Vietnamese contestants have achieved several prizes at the Miss World pageant. Luong Thuy Linh reached the Top 12 in 2019, and Do Thi Ha was among the Top 13 finalists in 2021.
