Vietnam Ethnic Groups’ Unity–Vietnam Cultural Heritage Week to open

NDO – On November 10, the Management Board of Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism officially announced the activities of Vietnam Ethnic Groups’ Unity–Vietnam Cultural Heritage Week.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Ethnic Groups’ Unity–Vietnam Cultural Heritage Week 2019 will take place over six days, from November 18 – 23, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Dong Mo Tourism Area in Son Tay Town, Hanoi.

There are five main groups of activities within the framework of the Vietnam Ethnic Groups’ Unity–Vietnam Cultural Heritage Week 2019, namely: the opening ceremony; workshops; a scientific seminar on raising awareness in preserving and promoting the values of Vietnamese national culture; photo exhibitions with topics such as “Promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc to build and defend the country”, “Cultural identity of the 54 ethnic groups”, “Preserving and developing culture in the international integration period” and “Journey to Ben Tre coconut land”; and activities of ethnic communities at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism to introduce a number of traditional festivals and special customs and traditions of ethnic minorities.

The annual event was organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to honour the tradition of great national unity through cultural exchanges, sports and tourism, and to strengthen the power of the Great national unity bloc.

The event is also part of the activities to mark the founding anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18), Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23) and to celebrate the Ninth National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front which was held successfully in September.
