Traditional Craft Festival to Begin in Central Vietnam in April
Visitors to Thua Thien-Hue Province, central Vietnam, will be able to experience the culture and tradition of the area at the Hue Traditional Craft Festival, which will be held from April 28 to May 5. The festival will include a variety of activities and programs along the two banks of the Huong (Perfume) River.
The People’s Committee of Hue City, the provincial capital, announced on Tuesday that preparations for the ninth Hue Traditional Craft Festival have been completed.
Following the success of past editions, the upcoming event, titled “Quintessence of Vietnamese Crafts”, will present art performances and displays of both local and international handicrafts.
The first festival was unveiled in 2005.
The highlight of the ninth edition is a food festival themed “Quintessence of Noodle-Making Craft” with the aim of honoring Hue’s traditional craft. The event promises to offer an exciting opportunity to explore and appreciate the unique noodle-making culture of the city. Visitors will get to enjoy a range of delicious dishes prepared by master chefs, as well as take part in interactive activities like noodle-making demonstrations and workshops. Vo Le Nhat, the Chairman of the Hue People’s Committee, has announced that this year’s festival will be focused on introducing the unique products of traditional crafts from Hue and other provinces and cities in Vietnam, as well as international craftwork.
Among them are brocade weaving, silversmithing, embroidery, pottery, ao dai tailoring, copper casting, folk painting, lantern making, and cuisine.
The Hue Festival, one of the most significant events in Hue City and Thua Thien Hue Province, is designed to preserve and showcase the value of traditional craftsmanship, as well as to promote tourism. Through the festival, visitors have the opportunity to experience the unique culture and customs of the region.
