The upcoming film, Betting with Ghost, is set to captivate audiences across Vietnam and several Asian countries. With a unique blend of humor, supernatural elements, and a compelling father-son dynamic, the movie promises an entertaining and engaging cinematic experience.

Produced by Bluebells Studios, Betting with Ghost revolves around a young man’s deal with a ghost to achieve wealth. The story unfolds through the eyes of Lanh (played by Tuan Tran), who strikes an unusual agreement with a ghost, limiting his daily earnings to 30 million VND to protect his family from accidents. This deal, however, comes with a host of challenges and unexpected twists.

Creative producer Vo Nguyen Dan drew inspiration from the intriguing role of coffin bearers, individuals believed to possess a connection to the underworld. The film explores Lanh’s journey as he navigates supernatural means to pursue wealth, only to find himself facing a series of trials and uncovering secrets about his relationship with his father, Mr. Dao (played by veteran actor Hoai Linh).

Director Nguyen Nhat Trung specifically chose Linh for the role of Mr. Dao, praising his dedication and immersive acting abilities. “Viewers will feel many meanings through the character of Mr. Dao,” said Trung. The character of Lanh, driven by a desire to gamble and achieve financial success, required Tran to prepare diligently, including watching online clips and consulting with individuals experienced in cockfighting.

As the story progresses, Lanh and his father face numerous hardships due to the consequences of the deal. Lanh falls into debt, suffers beatings, and even has his house seized by gangsters. The unresolved mysteries surrounding Lanh’s transformation and the ghost’s assistance build intrigue, setting the stage for emotional and captivating revelations.

Tran hopes that his portrayal of Lanh will surpass his previous roles and leave a lasting impression on audiences. Meanwhile, Director Trung aimed to create a ghost character that audiences could relate to, infusing human-like emotions and authenticity into the supernatural entity.

Betting with Ghost will first be released in Vietnam on August 30, followed by screenings in Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Brunei, and Taiwan. The international distribution is handled by Mockingbird Pictures, known for their successful track record with Asian hit movies in Vietnam.

With its intriguing premise, talented cast, and exploration of spiritual themes, Betting with Ghost is poised to captivate audiences and leave a lasting impression. Don’t miss this unique cinematic experience coming soon to a theater near you!
