At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Ho An Phong, emphasized that the event was more than just an international cultural and entertainment festival. It was also a celebration of the natural beauty, rich culture, and vibrant people of the beach city of Nha Trang. He noted that the festival presented an opportunity to showcase a peaceful, developing, and culturally prosperous Vietnam to the world.
Ho An Phong expressed his confidence in the festival’s ability to boost local tourism, helping Khanh Hoa achieve its ambitious target of welcoming 9 million visitors this year, including 3 million international tourists, with a projected tourism revenue of VND40 trillion (approximately US$1.6 billion).
The festival, a spectacular showcase of lights and culture, took place over two nights. The first evening featured a drone light show competition between teams from the Republic of Korea and China, with the theme “Glamour Nha Trang.” The night also included musical performances by talented young Vietnamese singers.
The second night, titled “Night of Wonders,” saw a competition between teams from France and the UAE. This evening of wonder and spectacle concluded with a grand closing ceremony at Vinpearl Harbour on Hon Tre Island, set amidst the stunning backdrop of Nha Trang Bay.
According to the provincial Department of Tourism, the festival attracted over 50,000 attendees each night, with hotels and resorts in the city reporting an average occupancy rate of over 80% during the festival period. The event successfully highlighted the beauty and appeal of Khanh Hoa, contributing to its goal of becoming a leading tourist destination in Vietnam.
