The Science Film Festival is an international event, currently in its seventh year, held across 24 countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. This year’s festival, organized by the Goethe Institute in Vietnam, runs from October 17 to December 31 and focuses on the crucial topic of reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.

With the goals of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement in mind, the festival emphasizes the importance of achieving net-zero emissions as soon as possible. Through a selection of films from international filmmakers, studios, and television programs, the event aims to educate and engage audiences on this pressing environmental issue.

The 2023 festival features 20 films from 9 countries, including Germany, the UK, France, Italy, Chile, Colombia, Qatar, Thailand, and the Philippines. These films were carefully chosen from 85 submissions, ensuring a diverse and compelling lineup for audiences to enjoy.

Until December 31, a total of 20 films will be screened online and in-person at school libraries across Vietnam, offering convenient and accessible viewing options for festival-goers.
