The Vietnam Airlines Classic – Hanoi Concert, or VACC 2024, is an upcoming musical event to be held on October 12-13 at the Ho Guom Opera Theatre, Hanoi. This concert is organized to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the capital city’s liberation, a significant milestone in Vietnam’s history.

Kicking off the concert on October 12, the renowned Russian National Orchestra, led by conductor César Álvarez from Spain, will perform a captivating repertoire, including the Vietnamese National Anthem and other classical masterpieces. Accompanying them on this first night is the illustrious pianist, Eva Gevorgyan, a talented artist of Russian-Armenian descent.

The second night, on October 13, will showcase the graceful art of ballet with performances by dancers from the esteemed Bolshoi Theatre. Audiences will be treated to a mesmerizing display of classical ballet excerpts, showcasing the exquisite talent and artistry of these renowned dancers.

Founded in 1990 by pianist and conductor Mikhail Pletnev, the Russian National Orchestra has established itself as a leading symphony orchestra, renowned for its exceptional talent and cultural significance. Over the past three decades, the orchestra has garnered international acclaim and public admiration, becoming an iconic symbol of Russian artistic excellence.

The orchestra regularly performs in the music capitals of Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and is a frequent guest at prestigious festivals such as Edinburgh, the BBC Proms, and Festival Napa Valley. Their annual RNO Grand Festival in September marks the opening of the Moscow season, further emphasizing their prominence in the classical music world.

In 2004, the Russian National Orchestra made history by becoming the first Russian symphony orchestra to receive the Grammy Awards. This remarkable achievement was further emphasized when Gramophone, Europe’s most respected music magazine, ranked them among the top 20 orchestras globally. This recognition solidifies their standing as one of the finest ensembles in classical music today.
