The event was graced by the presence of numerous chefs from renowned restaurants and hotels of ASEAN member countries in Prague, as well as guests from the diplomatic community in the Czech Republic.
Vietnamese chefs took center stage as they demonstrated the art of preparing, cooking, and savoring Pho, sharing the story and significance of this iconic dish.
Their counterparts from other ASEAN nations also showcased a diverse range of Southeast Asian cuisine, including Laab Gai from Thailand, Suman from the Philippines, Bebek Betutu from Indonesia, Roji Jaja & Kari Ayam from Malaysia, and Shwe Htamin from Myanmar.
In his speech, Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam highlighted the importance of Pho in Vietnamese culture, noting that it is one of the country’s most representative dishes on the global culinary stage.
The Ambassador praised the ACP’s initiative to introduce the essence of Southeast Asian culinary traditions to the Czech people and international audience, fostering a deeper appreciation for the region’s diverse food culture.
Alongside the growth and integration of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, Vietnamese cuisine is also gaining traction. The opening of more Vietnamese restaurants in the country attests to its growing popularity among locals and expatriates alike.
ASEAN-Japan Music Festival 2019 to be held
NDO – The ASEAN-Japan Music Festival 2019 will take place at the National Convention Centre, My Dinh, Hanoi, on July 28, with the participation of Vietnamese singers Noo Phuoc Thinh, Dong Nhi and Trong Hieu, as well as many international artistes.
