Despite the chilly weather, music lovers gathered in Da Lat were treated to a night of nostalgia and exceptional performances by international music legends. The Dalat Spring Concert, an annual international music project, warmed up the city with its stellar lineup of artists, thrilling both residents and tourists alike.

The highly anticipated concert, co-organized by the Lam Dong People’s Committee and IB Group Vietnam, featured iconic stars from the 1970s and 1980s, including Samantha Fox, Joy, and Boney M’s Liz Mitchell. The event, which was free and open to the public, offered a unique opportunity to experience these legendary artists in the beautiful setting of Da Lat.

As the clock struck 7:30 pm, the grandstand, with a capacity of over 18,000 seats, was packed to the brim with eager spectators. The energy and excitement were palpable as the audience prepared themselves for a journey through musical memories.

The concert kicked off with a bang, as the legendary stars took to the stage, delivering powerful and nostalgic performances. The set list included 15 timeless songs that transported the audience back in time. From Samantha Fox’s energetic presence to Joy’s captivating debut of “Co Gai Viet Nam – Vietnamese Girl,” each performance left the crowd wanting more.

“I couldn’t believe I was finally going to see Boney M perform live,” exclaimed Huynh Quoc Dat, a local resident of Da Lat. “Their songs bring back so many memories, and I couldn’t miss the chance to relive my youth. Despite the cold, the atmosphere was electric, and the concert exceeded all my expectations.”

Tran Binh Minh, a tourist who traveled from Ho Chi Minh City, shared a similar sentiment: “Hearing these legendary musicians perform their nostalgic songs moved me deeply. It was an incredible experience and a testament to the power of music to unite and inspire.”

The Dalat Spring Concert holds a significant purpose beyond entertainment. It aims to introduce Da Lat as a global creative city for music and establish it as an international music destination. This vision aligns with Da Lat being named among UNESCO’s new global creative cities in late October last year.

As a token of appreciation, Liz Mitchell, on behalf of the performers, presented two guitars to the city, symbolizing the lasting connection forged between the artists and the community.
