According to VAC President Do Lenh Hung Tu, the festival received an impressive 161 submissions across various cinematic categories. This includes 16 feature films, 18 TV series, a notable 41 documentaries, 18 scientific films, 14 animated movies, 50 short films, and four theoretical and critical works.
This year’s event breaks records with the highest number of registered films, solidifying the Golden Kite Awards’ growing prestige in the industry, as Tu remarked.
Nguyen Van Nhuan, Director of the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, highlighted the event’s potential to boost Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa’s tourism image and showcase its vibrant culture and attractions.
The festival will offer a rich program with film screenings from September 3-9, talk shows, and a seminar reflecting on the Vietnamese movie industry’s journey since national reunification.
The organizing board will bestow prestigious titles, including Golden Kite, Silver Kite, and Certificate of Merit, upon the outstanding works across multiple categories: feature films, TV series, documentaries, scientific films, animated movies, short films, and theoretical and critical works.
Additionally, the VCA will present special awards to debut films, audience favorites, films with impactful thematic storytelling, and promising actors and actresses in both feature films and television series.
