Ho Guom Opera House celebrates its first anniversary with a special event, as announced by People’s Artist Nguyen Cong Bay, the director, at a press conference in the capital on June 6.
The renowned Welsh singer, Katherine Jenkins, is set to grace the occasion with her versatile repertoire, including operatic arias, popular songs, musical theater, and hymns. Jenkins rose to fame in 2003 when she performed at Westminster Cathedral to honor Pope John Paul II’s silver jubilee.
With a string of successful albums since 2004, Jenkins has consistently topped the British and foreign charts. Her talent has been recognized with Classic Brit Awards for Album of the Year in both 2005 and 2006. She is also known for her charitable performances and appearances at major sporting events and television shows.
The upcoming July 10 concert will feature a collaboration between Jenkins, the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Saigon Pops Orchestra, promising an unforgettable musical experience.
The press conference also unveiled an exciting lineup of musical programs at Ho Guom Opera House until the end of the year. Music lovers can look forward to the Mozart Concert on August 23-24, featuring Swedish singer Sofia and French instrument ensemble Les Musiciens du Louvre.
The Royal Theater of Versailles Symphony Orchestra will return to Ho Guom Opera House with the captivating Four Seasons concert on September 11-12. Additionally, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra will present The Vienna Concert on November 23-24, adding to the diverse musical offerings.
Rounding off the year, the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNOB) will present a new version of Carmen, a beloved opera, on July 16, followed by the musical La Traviata on August 9-10, ensuring a spectacular close to the anniversary celebrations.
