“Saigon Times-Great Circle” donates gifts to residents in HCMC’s Hoc Mon Dist

HCMC – The “Saigon Times-Great Circle 2021” program of the Saigon Times Group on June 25 donated gifts to local residents who have been affected by the latest resurgence of Covid-19 in HCMC’s Hoc Mon District.

The Saigon Times Group in coordination with the HCMC Department of Industry and Trade, the HCMC Food and Foodstuff Association, and the HCMC Center for Supporting Enterprise Development transported the gifts to the residents.

The gifts included VND30 million funded by Thien Nam Elevator Company to buy 750 protective gears; 300 cartons of instant noodles contributed by foodstuff manufacturer Acecook Vietnam; 40 cartons of mineral water and 30 cartons of soya milk provided by dairy company Vinamilk.

Other donations included 10,000 medical face masks and 2,000 hand sanitizers of Samaki Power Company; 200 boxes of instant noodles from Phuc Hao Company; 1,000 anti-droplet goggles and 1,000 hand sanitizers given by Tan Thanh Mechanical Trading JSC; and 30 cartons of mineral water donated by Tan Hiep Phat Company.

Also, Ly Kim Chi, chairwoman of the HCMC Food and Foodstuff Association, donated 1,000 cartons of instant noodles and five tons of rice; Kieu Huynh Son, chairman of the HCMC Mechanical-Electrical Enterprise Association, offered two booths for collecting samples for Covid-19 testing, and two cartons of face masks to the program.

Earlier, on June 15, the program joined hands with An Cuong Wood Working JSC, Saigon Thang Long Group and Thang Loi Group donated eight tons of rice and other gifts to residents of the Ehome 3 apartment building compound under lockdown in HCMC’s Binh Tan District.

On June 17, the program offered Covid-19 relief aid, which were contributed by Acecook Vietnam and Dr Thanh Herbal Tea brand, to medical workers in the District 5 Medical Center.

Further, on June 19, the program donated necessities to medical workers and employees of the medical centers of HCMC’s 12 and Go Vap districts to support them in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. The necessities were contributed by Vinh Thanh Dat Food Corporation, Dr Thanh Herbal Tea and Nescafé 3in1 brands. They included 150 boxes of cooling tea, 100 boxes of instant coffee and 500 bags of eggs.

Following the success of the “Saigon Times-Great Circle” program in 2020, the Saigon Times Group continued the program this year with the theme “Join hands to fight the Covid-19 pandemic” to support people affected by the pandemic.

The program will receive donations from organizations and individuals and then distribute them to the needy in HCMC and other provinces.
