Themed “Aspirations for national development”, this year’s contest aims to promote the reading habits and skills among students, thereby inspiring passion and boosting the reading movement among younger generations.

In addition, the contest contributes to affirming the position and great role of Vietnamese culture, especially reading culture, in spreading the knowledge, improving people’s intelligence, creativity, fostering personality, arousing patriotism and aspirations for national development.

The preliminary round will be held by the General Department of Politics, under the Ministry of National Defence, the Department of Party and political work, under the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnam Blind Association, the Vietnam Education Publishing House, provinces, cities, universities and academies, by their own funding from March.

The units will select and send the most outstanding entries to the organising board in Hanoi, this July.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for November in Hanoi. Accordingly, four ‘Outstanding Reading Culture Ambassador’ titles, eight A, 16 B, 52 C and 180 consolation prizes will be presented.

The organising board awarded prizes to outstanding students, units and collectives, with the largest number of entrants and winning entries.
