At the ceremony, each participant held a white daisy and observed a one-minute silence paying tribute to soldiers, doctors, medical staff and people who lost their lives to COVID-19.
An exhibition opened on the occasion to introduce visitors to selected photos from the photobook.
‘Sai Gon COVID-19 2021’ was published following the success of Phong’s photobook named ‘Sai Gon COVID-19 2020’.
While the 2020 book reflected a quiet, yet strong and resilient city during its social distancing period, the 2021 version provided visitors with 155 pictures featuring the humanity, love and support of people across the country towards Ho Chi Minh City in the fight against the pandemic.
The 155 photos were selected from more than 6,000 files that were taken by Phong from June to November 2021.
