The launch ceremony was attended by Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Nguyen Ngoc Luong, who is Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation; and Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera.
Taking place from now until the end of October 2020, the painting contest is a useful educational playground for children to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba, contributing to fostering a close relationship between the two peoples.
The contest is open to Vietnamese children aged 6-15, focusing on children at art clubs of primary schools, secondary schools, as well as at children houses and centres for youth activities.
Entries should focus on praising the longstanding, close relations between Vietnam and Cuba; honouring beautiful images between the people and children of the two countries, the determination to inherit, preserve and promote the special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba; an understanding of the country and people of Cuba as well as President Fidel Castro.
The organising board will present one first prize worth VND2 million; three second prizes, each worth VND1.5 million; six third prizes worth VND1 million each; 20 consolation prizes, each worth VND500,000 to the winners. All prizes will be accompanied by a certificate of merit from the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and a photo book on the relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.
Entrants should submit their works to the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation, No. 62 Ba Trieu, Hoan Kiem District, in Hanoi.
