Gold medals were presented to six of the best plays including: “Lang song sinh” (The village of twins) by Hanoi Drama Theatre; “Thien menh” (The will of God) and “Dieu con lai” (The remaining) by Vietnam Drama Theatre; “Con do cua me” (Mother’s boat) by People’s Public Security Theatre; “Ho den” (Black hole) by the Army’s Drama Theatre; and “Lam vua” (Being a King) by Le Ngoc Theatre.
The organising board also awarded three silver and seven bronze medals to ten other outstanding plays.
In addition, the excellent actors and actresses were honoured at the ceremony, with 28 gold, 42 silver and 16 bronze medals.
On the occasion, Nguyen Dang Chuong, People’s Artist Nguyen Trung Hieu, musician Duc Trinh and Meritorious Artist Doan Bang received best author, director, musician and painter awards, respectively.

The 2021 National Drama Festival drew the participation of 14 professional drama units, featuring 20 plays with diverse, new and attractive content.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said that the entries to the festival thoroughly reflected many issues of contemporary life, creating a “spiritual vaccine” for audiences amid the complicated COVID-19 pandemic.
The plays, in different topics, have brought unforgettable emotions for the audiences and conveyed humane messages.
