She was accompanied by the pageant’s delegation, including Thai business mogul Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip who is the new owner of Miss Universe, along with Miss Universe Dominican Republic Andreína Martínez, the second runner-up of Miss Universe 2022.
On February 24 they are scheduled to hold a meeting with a Vietnamese company which owns copyright co-operation with the Miss Universe Organization to nominate the representative to the pageant starting from this year.
The Vietnamese company has yet to be revealed, but will hold a signing ceremony with Jakrajutatip’s Thailand-based media group JKN Global Media Public Company Limited about the copyright in order to nominate the Vietnamese representative to the Miss Universe pageant.
Elite Vietnam, one of the first and only international modelling agency in Vietnam with offices in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, has been mentioned as a potential candidate for this transaction.
In October, 2022, JKN Global purchased Miss Universe Organization (MUO) for US$20 million.
Saigon Universe Joint Stock Company (Unicorp), the organisers of Miss Universe Vietnam pageant, earlier announced plans to suspend copyright co-operation with the Miss Universe Organization as of 2023, reasoning the new business focus of Miss Universe is no longer consistent with the long-term development strategies and goals of the organisers of Miss Universe Vietnam.
Unicorp is the owner of the Miss Universe Vietnam brand organizing the Miss Universe pageant in 2008, and the Miss Universe Vietnam beauty contests in 2015 and 2017.
In 2019, Unicorp empowered Universe Media Vietnam Co., Ltd. (UniMedia) to organise the Miss Universe Vietnam pageants in both 2019 and 2022.
Since 2008, Unicorp has held the copyright to nominate the Vietnamese representative to the Miss Universe pageant.
