The event was attended by representatives of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), the Vietnam Denmark Friendship Association, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Embassy of Denmark, and hundreds of teachers and students from local primary and secondary schools in Hanoi and neighboring provinces.

The painting competition, held under the theme of ‘Green Future’, is part of the 10th-anniversary celebration of the signing of the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement between Vietnam and Denmark. This agreement signifies a significant milestone in the bilateral relationship, elevating it from traditional development cooperation to a comprehensive partnership encompassing political dialogue, green growth, energy, trade, investment, and culture.

The competition is open to all local students from primary and secondary schools, with a submission deadline of November 30. The winners will be announced and awarded at a ceremony at the end of the 2023-2024 school year in Hanoi.

During the launching ceremony, Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolai Prytz expressed his honor and excitement to attend the Denmark in Your Eyes painting competition. He emphasized the competition’s value in strengthening the long-term cooperation between the two countries in promoting green and sustainable development. The ambassador also praised the popularity of the competition among Vietnamese schoolchildren, with over 18,000 paintings submitted in the previous competition. He believes that the competition provides a creative platform for Vietnamese children to express their wishes for the future and generate innovative ideas for creating a green future and ensuring the well-being of all.

The competition encourages schoolchildren to unleash their imagination and bring their dreams of a Green Future to life through various themes, including environmental protection, biodiversity, energy efficiency, green energy, CO2 emissions reduction, waste management, and climate change.

The jury board for the competition will comprise esteemed painters from Kim Dong Publishing House, Thieu Nien Tien Phong, and Nhi Dong newspaper, as well as representatives from the Danish Embassy and the Vietnam Denmark Friendship Association.
