The event aims to foster and strengthen the longstanding relationship between the two countries, as well as promote friendship between Lao Cai province and India through cultural, artistic, and tourism activities.

In her opening speech, Sung Hong Mai, Vice Director of the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, emphasized that the event is part of the celebrations for the 76th anniversary of India’s Independence Day, thereby enhancing the friendship between the two nations.

The program offers an opportunity for both local residents and visitors to immerse themselves in the unique cultural space of India through contemporary folk music performances by the Tetseo Sisters band. Additionally, artists from the provincial Ethnic Art Troupe will showcase works that reflect the cultural identities of the ethnic groups in Lao Cai.

Meticulously choreographed, the event featured nearly 20 traditional singing and dancing performances that captivated thousands of spectators.

In recent times, Lao Cai authorities have collaborated with the Indian Embassy to organize cultural exchange activities including International Yoga Day. They have also warmly welcomed numerous Indian art troupes to perform, with the aim of introducing India’s incredible culture to the local community.
