The ceremony is to recognize and honor the immense efforts Vietnam has undertaken to preserve and promote the significance of world cultural heritages in Thua Thien-Hue over the past several decades. By doing so, Vietnam has highlighted the importance of safeguarding and celebrating cultural diversity, as well as encouraging global cultural exchange.
It will provide a platform for policymakers and experts to exchange ideas and insights on how to promote world cultural heritage values in Vietnam and other countries across the globe. This forum will enable them to come together and share strategies and approaches to ensure that these values are preserved and celebrated worldwide.
Simultaneously, the event will contribute to ensuring the strict implementation of UNESCO commitments in the management, protection, and promotion of cultural heritage values, as well as enhancing ties between Vietnam and UNESCO in order to achieve the goal of preserving heritage sites for future generations.
A variety of exciting activities will take place from June 16th to 18th to commemorate this momentous occasion. Furthermore, a grand ceremony and an art program that pays tribute to these heritages will be held at 8 p.m. on June 17 at Ngo Mon (Noon Gate) Square.
