The event aims to showcase silk products to participants from around the world and create new tourism opportunities for Hoi An Ancient Town in Quang Nam province.

The program will feature art and fashion shows showcasing various silk collections, with the participation of Gami Joint Stock Company and Hoi An Silk Village.

According to a representative from the Center for Culture, Sports, Radio, and Television in Hoi An, the silk industry in the area has faced challenges in recent times. This event will help promote Hoi An’s unique tourism offerings and pave the way for the city to join UNESCO’s global network of creative cities in the handicrafts and folk art sectors.

Quang Nam silk is well-known worldwide and was exported from the Hoi An international trading port during the 17th and 18th centuries.

Alongside other traditional crafts along the Thu Bon River, silk weaving has played a significant role in diversifying the cultural identity of the province, particularly in Hoi An.
