Shot entirely in the United States, the movie serves as a cultural bridge, showcasing the allure of Vietnamese music to a global audience. By presenting a selection of 15 diverse songs in Vietnamese, English, and French, the film captures the emotional rollercoaster of its characters, offering viewers a unique blend of captivating music and a deeper insight into Vietnamese culture.
The film has garnered critical acclaim and a total of 12 awards from various international film festivals. It has particularly resonated with Vietnamese expatriates, receiving positive feedback during its screenings in the US, India, France, and across Europe. The movie’s impact was highlighted by its win at the 2024 World Film Festival in Cannes, where it secured the coveted Best Female Director Feature Film award.
