The Hanoi Ao Dai Festival 2022 will take place around Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian street from December 2-4.

The Ao Dai (traditional long dress) festival is one of the activities expected to contribute to the recovery of tourism and honor the traditional ao dai values of the Vietnamese as a source of creativity and unique tourism product, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.

The event’s opening ceremony will take place on December 2, featuring a show of Ao Dai by designers from  Hanoi, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City.

The festival’s main event will be held on December 3 and 4 in the Ba Kieu Temple in Hoan Kiem District, with the participation of about 700 people dressed in Ao Dai and an Ao Dai exhibition in the space of the Ly Thai To monument.

Within the framework of the festival, there are a series of activities such as displaying the historical space of Vietnamese Ao Dai, Ao Dai from three regions and promoting tourism products at 50 booths from Hanoi’s craft villages, airlines, travel agencies, hotels, resorts, tourist attractions, and shopping malls.

According to the director of the municipal Department of Tourism, Dang Huong Giang, it is an opportunity to promote Ao Dai from the north, center, and south of Vietnam and boost cooperation between Hanoi tourism companies and designers. fashionistas, artisans, and Ao Dai artists.

“The event also disseminates the image of Hanoi as a safe and friendly destination,” she added.

At the closing ceremony, to be held on December 4, the organizers will award prizes to designers participating in the Ao Dai design contest and another for designing the city’s tourist gifts and tourism photos.

The organizers will also launch a logo design competition for the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival.
