Ha Long to host first International Music Festival

NDO – The first Ha Long International Music Festival (HALOMUS), with the theme "Ha Long spread and integration", will take place from January 10 – 11, 2020, in Ha Long City.

This information was announced at a press conference in Hanoi, on January 6, by the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh Province, the Quang Ninh Department of Culture and Sports and the Vietnam Composers’ Association.

According to the organising board, the Ha Long International Music Festival 2020 will feature the participation of over 100 domestic and international artists and singers, including international artists from Guangxi Art Academy (China); “Magic of Nomads” band (Kazakhstan); and rock band “Yushoku-Hot” (Japan).

Chairman of the Vietnam Composers’ Association Do Hong Quan said that the music festival in Quang Ninh Province in the first days of the new year 2020 promises diversity in terms of genres and the performances of the bands. The performances in the festival are expressed in many different forms, such as pop, rock and contemporary folk style.

According to musician Do Hong Quan, the festival will be a favorable opportunity to introduce the landscape, people and new music works of Vietnam to international friends. It is also an opportunity for foreign musicians and artists to introduce the music of their countries to Vietnamese audiences.

The HALOMUS 2020 is a special music activity of Quang Ninh Province, contributing to the promotion of cooperation in the field of arts and the strengthening of the friendship and mutual cultural development between countries, Chairman Do Hong Quan emphasised. The event is expected to be a forum for exchanging and performing quality music compositions from Vietnam and other countries, he added.

According to Tran Tien Dung, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Department of Culture and Sports, through the festival, Quang Ninh Province wishes to introduce domestic and international tourists the province’s tourism resources, and to increase the attractiveness of tourist destinations, as well as to promote the tourism culture of the country and Quang Ninh Province.

The event will be the premise for the organisation of annual music events of Quang Ninh Province and the Vietnam Composers’ Association in the coming years; and will promote and form a brand of a professional music events of international stature.
