According to the Da Nang administration, nearly 930,000 international visitors arrived in the city, contributing to the total tourist arrivals. Additionally, tourism revenue in the first half of the year reached VND6.231 trillion (US$263 million), showing a significant increase of 99% compared to the previous year. These figures were revealed at the opening session of a People’s Council meeting on Monday. Ho Ky Minh, the vice-chairman of the municipal administration, emphasized that tourism and related services continue to drive the economic growth of the coastal city. The city’s tourism sector has been recovering with the introduction of various events, festivals, and new travel products aimed at attracting tourists.

The success of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2023 (DIFF 2023) and the upcoming ‘Wow Da Nang’ summer festival have played a significant role in attracting both domestic and international visitors. The DIFF 2023, held from June 2 to July 8 and sponsored by Sun Group, featured eight participating teams from different countries. The ‘Wow Da Nang’ festival, scheduled from July 28 to August 1, will offer various exciting events and activities, including art performances, fashion shows, kite flying, paragliding, rap shows, and a food festival featuring Vietnamese and international dishes.

Furthermore, the city’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 3.74% compared to 2022 and 13.48% compared to the first half of 2019, indicating positive economic growth.
