The project aligns with the Government’s direction that each province must have a public playground to develop a healthy lifestyle among the communities.

Built on the existing yard of the Nam Ly Ward Cultural House, the SCG Outdoor Gym Model is a combination of multi-purpose and specific-purpose areas, including a running track, a kids playground, a volleyball area, a badminton yard, a gym area with equipment for muscle strengthening as well as an area for relaxation beautifully set up with aesthetic materials.

Each area is designed suitably for different age groups, from the junior kid to the teenagers and the elders, bringing a modern outdoor space to encourage local people to actively do more outdoor exercises.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has stressed the importance of health and wellness for everybody in the society. The Government acknowledges this and is encouraging each community to improve its immunity through the practice of sports and outdoor activities,” said Varongsit Marrat, deputy general director of SCG Cement Building Materials Vietnam Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of SCG.

“Despite the impact of the pandemic and the most recent storms that hit Quang Binh Province, the local people and SCG staff have come together to complete the project on time. This place is expected to become a shared ground for the whole community regardless of age or gender to practice sports and exercise together, aimed toward a total wellness for all. We hope that this model will soon be replicated in other communities in the near future,” Marrat added.
