The annual festival, which will be jointly organized by the Department of Tourism and the Women’s Union of Ho Chi Minh City, aims to promote the distinctive features of the traditional Vietnamese long dress while fostering a love for this attire.
The event will take place at various locations including Nguyen Hue walking street, Lam Son park, Ao Dai Museum, Youth Cultural House, and other popular tourist destinations.
This year’s Ao Dai festival will showcase the works of 30 Ao Dai designers from all over the country, accompanied by the presence of 22 notable artists, singers, actors, and actresses serving as ambassadors. This was revealed by Le Truong Hien Hoa, the deputy director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Tourism.
A variety of activities will be organized as part of the event, featuring an Ao Dai performance on Nguyen Hue walking street with a participation of approximately 5,000 individuals, a seminar highlighting the beauty of the Vietnamese Ao Dai, and a beauty pageant.
Notably, a program with the theme “Ao Dai zero dong” will be implemented to bring happiness to many underprivileged workers and disadvantaged women, providing them with an opportunity to possess this traditional dress.
