Many local residents and tourists have been mesmerized by the stunning sight of hot-air balloons filling the sky over Quy Nhon City in Vietnam’s central province of Binh Dinh. It’s an experience that will stay with them for a long time to come.
The provincial tourism authority on Tuesday afternoon launched the inaugural hot-air balloon festival in this coastal area at Quy Nhon Square in the city of the same name. Thrilled locals and visitors alike gathered to witness the start of the much-anticipated event, which promised a vibrant and vibrant display of color and light in the sky. The balloons were released in batches of five and set off a spectacle with hues ranging from bright yellow to deep blue and everything in between. Accompanying the cheerful atmosphere, traditional music was played as the balloons floated away. The festival is expected to bring a huge boost to local tourism and create a unique experience for visitors.
The festival will last from April 25th to May 5th.
According to the event organizer, free-floating hot-air balloon rides begin at 6:00 am each day. Each balloon basket can accommodate two passengers and one pilot, making it the perfect activity to share with a friend or loved one. Soar through the sky, enjoying the breathtaking views of nature and the surrounding landscape. Get ready to embark on a unique adventure and make memories that will last a lifetime!
The free-floating hot-air balloon flights typically last between 45 and 60 minutes, taking you up to heights of 300 to 500 meters and across distances of up to 10 kilometers from the launch site. Enjoy the breathtaking views as you soar through the sky!
As for tethered balloons, the rides are available between 5:30 am and 7:30 am, carrying 2 to 3 passengers and one pilot per flight. The balloons will lift up to 30 to 50 meters in the air for a period of five minutes.
Multiple local inhabitants and visitors expressed their enthusiasm for witnessing the captivating view of a variety of colorful hot-air balloons soaring across the Quy Nhon sky in person for the first time.

Among the excited spectators, Nguyen Thanh Hai, a native of Quy Nhon, proudly held his daughter on his back. He exclaimed, “It’s an exhilarating sight to see hot-air balloons floating over the city! I’ve never seen anything like this before!”

Tran Van Thanh, the director of the Binh Dinh provincial Department of Tourism, recently announced the first-ever international hot-air balloon festival in the province. The event is being held to boost domestic and international tourism and showcase the area’s attractions.
The provincial tourism authority not only organized hot-air balloon shows, but also set up food stands offering a variety of special dishes at the festival. This added to the experience, ensuring that visitors had a truly memorable time.
The exciting festival is scheduled to showcase music performances on April 29 and 30 nights. Revelers can look forward to an unforgettable experience as they enjoy the diverse array of music from various genres.
