The Vietnam Malaysia Business Association (VMBIZ) and DANG Production Bhd, a renowned Malaysian event management company, co-hosted a vibrant celebration showcasing the best of Vietnam and Malaysia. The festival blended the delights of food, tourism, and trade, offering a unique experience to attendees.
A culinary journey awaited visitors with over 40 food booths, showcasing the diverse and delicious traditional dishes of Vietnam. Long-established Vietnamese enterprises in Kuala Lumpur, such as Vinh City, Viet-Thai-Cambodia Mart, and Mini Nguyen Café, tempted palates with a range of regional specialties. From the popular pho and fried spring rolls of the north to the central region’s fresh summer rolls, crispy banh xeo pancakes, and banh bot loc rice dumplings, there was something for every taste. The southern region’s beef sausage and broken rice completed the culinary tour.
Among the trade exhibitors, Suca AgriFood and Joho Botanical, based in Dak Lak province and Ho Chi Minh City, respectively, stood out as ambassadors of Vietnamese natural herbal beauty products. They presented a range of premium offerings, including macadamia nuts, cashews, black soybeans, and an array of skincare, hair care, and body oils, all tailored to the needs of Muslim consumers.
The festival also shined a spotlight on the breathtaking beaches of Da Nang and Hoi An, promoting Muslim-friendly tour packages. These packages included accommodations with prayer facilities and Halal-certified cuisine, ensuring a comfortable and respectful travel experience. Similarly, mosque tour packages in Malaysia captured the interest of young Vietnamese travelers seeking cultural exploration.
By the afternoon of August 18, the event had welcomed over 1,000 visitors, thanks to the support of the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, the ASEAN Retail-Chains and Franchise Federation (ARFF), the Business Association of Overseas Vietnamese, and the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia.
