This morning, nearly 80 cars and over 250 participants who are members of the 2030 Business Club under the Saigon Times Group, and other businesspeople began the road tour, kicking off the 15th Charitable Caravan and the 11th Library Caravan tour, themed “Legendary Road”.

According to a representative of the program’s organizing committee, this year’s tour was rescheduled several times due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 1,500-kilometer-long tour is set to take place in five days and four nights, from October 15 to 19, and will pass through HCMC, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Mang Den and Buon Ma Thuot.

The participants will present 300 bicycles, 490 gift sets and 10 scholarships to disadvantaged students. They will also offer a 2030 green library, additional learning facilities and 1,500 books to a national-standard 2030 library that was inaugurated at a school opening ceremony on September 5 last year, with gifts worth VND2.2 billion.

The 2030 green library, which covers an area of 50 square meters, is equipped with six reading tables and 12 stone benches. The project is expected to help teachers and students have more space for their learning and research activities.

Further, during the tour, there will be trade connection, sports and art activities to promote friendship and a sense of solidarity among the businesspeople.

A ceremony to kick off this year’s charity caravan tour was held at a rest stop on the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway.
