The coastal district of Ninh Hai in Ninh Thuan Province, south-central Vietnam will host the International Kite Surfing Week for the first time starting later this week, with a view to attracting a large number of domestic and foreign visitors.
The event is scheduled to take place from Friday to December 25 and will feature the participation of 70 kite surfers from 15 countries across the world, the organizing committee announced on Monday morning.
A wide range of activities will also be held during the course of the international kite surfing week, including a boat race, a women’s beach volleyball tournament, a golf competition, an apricot blossom festival, a running race, a food festival, and a street carnival.

The week is expected to offer Vietnam a chance of increasing international exchanges in sea sports while simultaneously promoting the development of marine sports, tourism, and culture in Ninh Thuan.
The south-central Vietnamese province has welcomed 2.4 million tourists so far this year and aims to attract 2.7 million visitors in 2023, according to Nhan Dan (People) newspaper.
