The event is held to worship Mother Lang Thi Tieu, who helped the king to defeat invaders and taught the people how to grow rice on the dawn of the nation’s history.

Visitors at the festival will have an opportunity to take part in sporting events and folk games such as tug of war, Chinese chess, and bag jumping, while competing in a contest on making traditional cakes.

A volleyball tournament and a folk singing fest are also scheduled as part of the festival.

Tay Thien landscape complex was recognised as a special national relic site in 2015. The Tay Thien festival aims to honour the traditional cultural values of Tam Dao district and inspire national pride among the public.

During this year’s event, the local public security forces have taken a wide range of measures to ensure social order and safety for visitors, helping them celebrate a happy and joyful festival.
