This is an annual programme which aims to introduce regional tourism potential, promote tourism activities, and attract investors in tourism in the six provinces of Lang Son, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang.
The 12th Through Viet Bac Heritage Sites Tourism Programme contributes to strengthening the exchange and cooperative relationship between provinces, attracting investors to exploit tourism development potential, and attracting tourists to Thai Nguyen province in particular, and the Viet Bac region in general.
The 12th Through Viet Bac Heritage Sites Tourism Programme was due to be held in Thai Nguyen province in 2020, but due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the programme was delayed until 2021. The programme includes many activities, such as survey destinations in Thai Nguyen province; seminars on tourism development cooperation in the six localities in the northern Viet Bac region; art shows and ethnic groups’ costume shows; exhibitions of photos promoting tourism in the six provinces.
Speaking at the event, Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that in order to have a general orientation for the post-epidemic period of 2021-2023, Vietnam will focus on the domestic tourism market. Therefore, the six provinces in the Viet Bac region should continue to participate in the two tourism campaigns launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism – “Vietnamese people travel Vietnam” and “Safe and attractive Vietnamese tourism”.
On the occasion, Thai Nguyen province handed over a host flag to to Ha Giang province.
The 12th Through Viet Bac Heritage Sites Tourism Programme – Thai Nguyen 2021 will run until April 23.
