The 2024 Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival, themed “Hanoi’s Culinary Delights,” came to a successful close on August 25 at the Tran Nhan Tong pedestrian street in Hai Ba Trung district. This three-day festival celebrated the rich and diverse culinary offerings of Hanoi, showcasing a mouth-watering array of local specialties.

According to the Organizing Committee, the festival attracted over 20,000 visitors, highlighting the strong appeal of Hanoi’s culture and cuisine. The event successfully promoted the city’s culinary reputation, contributing to Hanoi being named TripAdvisor’s “Best Food Destination for 2024.”

The festival featured nearly 80 booths, each a vibrant showcase of Hanoi’s cultural and culinary heritage. Visitors indulged in a plethora of delicious specialties, such as pho bo (beef noodle soup), banh cuon (steamed rice rolls), banh com (young sticky rice cakes), and the exquisite Tay Ho lotus tea. These dishes offered a tantalizing taste of the capital’s diverse and flavorful cuisine.

The festival also showcased chic and elegant items from renowned craft villages, including Bat Trang ceramics, Van Phuc silk, and Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan products. These artisanal treasures captivated attendees and offered a unique glimpse into Hanoi’s rich craft culture.

Beyond the food and craft stalls, the festival offered a lively mix of interactive activities. Street circus performances, culinary workshops, folk painting classes, and ethnic music shows entertained visitors and added to the vibrant atmosphere. The organizers successfully presented Hanoi as a dynamic and modern city while celebrating its rich cultural heritage.

Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, announced future plans for more innovative promotional activities to attract tourists to the city year-round. The festival’s fashion show at the closing ceremony was a highlight, presenting a fusion of traditional and modern Vietnamese fashion.
