Hanoi Concert presents a New Year Concert for 2025, a classical music celebration to be held on January 1st at the iconic Hanoi Opera House. The event will showcase a diverse range of Vietnamese and international classical masterpieces.

As shared by Hanoi Radio and Television, the audience is in for a treat with a program featuring monumental works. This includes the beloved and profound Nguoi Ha Noi (Hanoi People) by composer Nguyen Dinh Thi, performed by the talented tenor Tuan Anh. The cheerful and bustling Happy New Year by musician Do Kien Cuong will also be a highlight, infusing the concert with joy and festivity.

The international segment of the concert shines a spotlight on the masterful Cinema Paradiso by the legendary composer Ennio Morricone. The emotional violin performance by Bui Cong Duy, coupled with the captivating soprano vocals of Pham Khanh Ngoc, will create an unforgettable experience for the audience.

Cinema Paradiso was originally composed for the Oscar-winning film of the same name, released in 1988, and embodies the enduring love for cinema.

The program also includes the exquisite Waltz of the Flowers by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, taken from his renowned ballet The Nutcracker. This graceful and soaring waltz, performed by a combination of string and woodwind instruments, will fill the concert hall with splendor.

The concert will further showcase energetic and heroic symphonies such as Festival Overture by Dmitri Shostakovich, Chapter IV of Beethoven’s triumphant Symphony No. 5, and the prominent aria Quel guardo il cavaliere from Gaetano Donizetti’s opera Don Pasquale. The program also features overtures from classic operas like Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg by Richard Wagner and The Barber of Seville by Rossini, including the famous aria Una voce poco fa.

The Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra will be joined by renowned artists such as People’s Artist Bui Cong Duy, Meritorious Artist Pham Khanh Ngoc, tenor Tuan Anh, and soprano Bao Yen, among others. The concert will be conducted by the distinguished Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji.

Hanoi Concert’s New Year celebration will be broadcast live on Hanoi 1 channel, with a radio simulcast on FM96, and will also be streamed online via YouTube, Facebook, and the Hanoi ON application, ensuring that music lovers can welcome the new year with a spectacular classical music experience.
