Da Lat to Host 23rd Vietnam Film Festival in November

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is hosting its biennial film industry award ceremony, in honor of the cinematographic works and artists in the industry.

Highlighting the building of a Vietnamese Film Industry rich in national identity, modernity, and humanity, the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival will be held from November 21 to 25 in Da Lat City in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

Co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the provincial People’s Committee, the biennial event honors motion pictures and artists.

The film Dreamy Eyes helps attract tourists to filming locations in the central province of Thua Thien Hue.

According to the ministry’s Department of Cinema, to be eligible for the festival, works must be in the form of feature films, documentaries, science films, and animated films in the Vietnamese language and produced by Vietnamese film production companies or in cooperation with foreign organizations or individuals without copyright disputes.

Entries must not have been previously submitted to any festival or the National Television Festival. Films adapted from foreign scripts are valid for the festival.

Feature films must be at least 70 minutes in length, while documentaries, science films, and animated films must be no longer than 100 minutes.

The deadline for submissions is September 5.

Through the film festival, the organizing committee aims to introduce the culture, people, and scenic spots of Lam Dong Province.
