Dang Thi Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, confirmed that the city is fully prepared for the peak season in the latter half of 2025, particularly the major holidays in late August and early September.

“Hanoi’s tourism, travel, and hospitality sectors are committed to ensuring all resources and facilities are ready for National Day. Currently, hotel occupancy rates in central districts like Ba Dinh and Hoan Kiem range from 70% to nearly 100%,” she stated.

The National Day celebrations have propelled Hanoi to the top of Vietnamese tourists’ search lists. The highlight will be the official ceremony and parade on September 2, starting at 6:30 AM in Ba Dinh Square—the historic site where President Ho Chi Minh proclaimed Vietnam’s independence in 1945.

According to the Ministry of National Defense, the commemorative parade will feature approximately 40,000 participants, including government officials, military units, artists, and civilians. The event will showcase a torch relay, a solemn flag-raising ceremony, keynote speeches, military parades, and large-scale cultural performances, symbolizing Vietnam’s unity, strength, and cultural heritage.

From September 1 to 3, five of Hanoi’s most iconic cultural and historical sites will offer free admission to all visitors. These include the Ho Chi Minh Museum (Ba Dinh Ward), Vietnam National Museum of History (Trang Tien Ward), Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts (Van Mieu Ward), Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theatre (Giang Vo Ward), and Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Son Tay Town).

During these days, museums and cultural institutions will host special exhibitions and displays, providing deeper insights into Vietnam’s rich heritage, revolutionary history, and artistic legacy.

Exclusive Tourism Offerings

In addition to vibrant cultural activities across the capital, Director Dang Huong Giang announced the development of new tourism products, including day tours, suburban excursions, culinary experiences, cultural immersions, and night tours.

Short tours linking Hanoi with nearby provinces like Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, and Ninh Binh are also being promoted. The city plans to introduce new walking and community cultural spaces for locals and international tourists.

To enhance visitor experiences, Hanoi has launched unique night tourism products, such as the “Bell of Tran Vu” night tour at Quan Thanh Temple, the “Nam Thang Long Heritage Road” route, and the “Study Path” tour.

Starting August 19, Hanoi will introduce premium night trains, including the “Hanoi Five Gates” tourist train, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945). This train integrates traditional folk art performances, such as *Xam*, *Cheo*, and *Chau Van*, into its artistic space.

Passengers can enjoy beverages at the bar and skylight area while taking in Hanoi’s nighttime views. The train operates two trips daily, connecting Hanoi with Tu Son Ward, Bac Ninh Province, and offering inner-city night tours. These journeys allow visitors to experience the vibrant essence of ancient Hanoi within the modern city. The train also enhances spiritual and historical exploration, extending to suburban areas like Do Temple in Bac Ninh Province via electric car.

With these captivating offerings, particularly the “Hanoi Five Gates” train, local tourism leaders anticipate significant success for the city’s tourism industry in the second half of 2025.
