UAVS-NSW President Dang Dinh Hung stated that the cultural day offers a unique opportunity for Vietnamese young generation and expats living in Australia to explore the rich culture, nature, and people of Vietnam.
This cultural day is part of a series of events that will commemorate the upcoming 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Australia diplomatic relations, scheduled for next year.
The event attracted over 200 visitors, primarily Vietnamese university students in NSW and expats. It featured a diverse range of activities, including the creation of “to he” (rice dough toys), painting on traditional Vietnamese conical hats known as “non la”, calligraphy writing, and an exhibition of Dong Ho folk paintings.
Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in various traditional Vietnamese folk games and indulge in the delightful flavors of Vietnamese cuisine, such as fresh rolls (“goi cuon”), Vietnamese sandwiches (“banh mi”), iced coffee (“ca phe sua da”), and peach tea (“tra dao”). The iced coffee and peach tea were particularly popular among the younger participants.
The event was designed to emulate a traditional Vietnamese market in the days leading up to Tet, Vietnam’s traditional New Year celebration.
