Vietnam’s Leaders Send Congratulations to China on 73rd National Day

Leaders of the Vietnamese Party, State, Government and National Assembly have cabled messages of congratulations to their Chinese counterparts on 73rd National Day of China (October 1).

According to VNA, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue sent congratulatory messages to General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Li Zhanshu.

In their messages, the Vietnamese leaders spoke highly of socio-economic achievements that the Chinese Party, State and people have reaped over the past 73 years.

They expressed their belief that under the leadership of the CPC with Party General Secretary and President Xi at the core, the Chinese people will continue staying united and accomplish goals and tasks set by the CPC to build China into a modern socialist country with prosperity, democracy, civilization, harmonization and beauty.

They affirmed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam attach importance to consolidating and developing friendly neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation with the Chinese Party, State and people; stand ready together with China to strengthen political trust and deepen cooperation in various areas, toward developing the Vietnam – China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a stable and healthy manner to bring practical benefits to the two peoples, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

On the occasion of the upcoming 20th National Congress of the CPC, they wished and believed that the Congress would be a success, opening up a new road for the revolutionary cause of the Chinese Party, State and people.

On the occasion, the Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son sent a congratulatory message to the Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan also congratulated the Chinese National Day through a video-recorded speech, affirming Vietnam attaches great importance to consolidating and developing its comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China.

In his remarks, Hoan said Vietnam considers their ties a top priority in its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation, diversification and active international integration.

He took the occasion to congratulate China on its key achievements in terms of macroeconomic stability and Covid-19 prevention and control.

Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people will continue to achieve many new successes in the cause of reform, opening-up, national construction and development.

The minister hoped Vietnam and China will step up their cooperation across all and develop their bilateral trade in a balanced, healthy and sustainable manner; proposing China facilitate trade of farm produce from Vietnam.

He also suggested expanding high-quality investment cooperation, thereby bringing practical benefits to the two peoples, and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and in the world.

Earlier, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) and the city’s Vietnam-China Friendship Association co-hosted a ceremony on September 27 to mark Chinese National Day.

Attending the event, Chinese Consul General in HCM City Wei Huaxiang, said under the leadership of the two parties, Vietnam-China relations have weathered global upheavals to continue moving forward to harvest new achievements.

The Chinese diplomat said HCM City plays a vital part in promoting exchanges between the two nations.

He pledged that the Chinese Consulate General in HCM City is ready to coordinate with the municipal Party Committee and People’s Committee to step up ties between Vietnam’s southern hub and China’s cities and provinces.

He also vowed to engage in developing HCM City as a financial, science-technology and cultural centre, and to strengthen infrastructure connectivity, contributing to expanding the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
