Traveling aboard has not been made easy for globetrotters in the last two years. Vietnam now has good news: from mid-March, those who are fully vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19 will be able to enter without quarantine.

The Stuttgarter Nachrichten (Stuttgart News) from Germany recently recommended Vietnam as an ideal destination for post-pandemic travel. It also give 5 reasons for this recommendation, let’s take a look!

1. Bon appetit!

The news started by praising Vietnamese cuisine as one of the best in the world. The recommended list included:

Fish and meat are among the main ingredients. But vegetarians can relax as many restaurants offer meat-free options.

Fans of soup and hot food get their money’s worth in Vietnam. The national dish is called Pho and is a soup with rice noodles, meat and vegetables.

A remnant of French colonial rule is the Vietnamese baguette Bánh mì. The sandwich can be bought anywhere in the country – it is filled with pie, meat, vegetables and herbs.

2. Breathtaking tropical beaches

The press also highlighted Vietnam’s long coastline and the large number of beautiful beaches.

A must-see is Halong Bay, which is located in the north.

The limestone cliffs and the turquoise sea make the UNESCO World Heritage Site a real tourist magnet.

If you don’t want to just lie around lazily, you can grab a canoe and explore numerous caves.

The German article also mentioned hidden gems, adding that the small, untouched islands in Vietnam are also worth a visit.

Phu Quoc is highly recommended as half of the island is a national park and has beautiful white sandy beaches.

3. Mekong Delta region

Guides advise tourists who are not familiar with Mekong Delta region to spend at least three days there.

There are many details describing the exciting adventure in Vietnam such as the locals working on the water; fertile soil allowing farmers to harvest rice three times a year; and an incredible number of rice fields to admire.

Another special highlight is the floating market of Chai Rang, which has hundreds of wooden boats filled with mangoes, sugar cane and other foods float on the water and people trade their goods.

4. City stroll

Narrow streets, old temples and magnificent buildings – the historic cities of Vietnam are absolutely worth seeing.

According to the German news outlet, the best city stroll experience is in the city of Hoi An.

The historic old town is the only one that was not completely destroyed during the war. That is why it was also named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The capital Hanoi is also worth a detour! Here you can see the typical life of the Vietnamese – how about a round of Tai Chi, for example? In the park at Hoan Kiem Lake this is possible every morning.

5. Natural Beauty
