Fully vaccinated tourists can travel domestically without negative Covid-19 test

Travelers who have been fully vaccinated with two Covid-19 vaccine doses will be exempted from Covid-19 testing.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a document temporarily guiding the implementation of Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP dated October 11, 2021 in cultural, sports and tourism activities. This document includes information that is of special attention of tourists.

For all epidemic levels, tourists only have to be tested in one of the following cases: (1) suspicion or indication of an epidemiological investigation in an area at level 3 of the epidemic; (2) people coming from an area assessed at level 4 of epidemic or an isolated area.

Tourists who have received two doses of vaccine or have recovered from Covid-19 will need Covid-19 testing in the following cases: (1) When there is a request for epidemiological investigation; (2) They are coming from an area assessed to have level 4 of epidemic or an isolated area. The Covid-19 test must be done by RT-PCR or rapid antigen test within 72 hours before the tour starts.

Tourists must comply with the “5K message”, perform medical declaration or QR code scanning, and fully comply with regulations on safety and prevention of epidemics and rules of tourism business establishments.

For areas at level 1 and 2 of the epidemics, tourism activities will be at 100% capacity. For areas with level 2, relic sites and museums are allowed to serve no more than 20 people/group. Tour guides and instructors must have at least one dose of vaccine at least 14 days before, or have recovered from Covid-19 and have a negative testing result for n-CoV.

 

For areas at level 3: sightseeing activities in tourist sites, indoor gathering events and group tours with the participation of less than 25 people; tourist accommodations and restaurants in tourist sites at no more than 50% of capacity; vehicles serving tourists with no more than 50% of the seats. Relic sites and museums are allowed to serve no more than 10 people.

Services with high risk of infection such as discos, karaoke, massage parlous, bars, internet shops, video games, hair salons, beauty salons and other services shall comply with regulations of the authorities of provinces and cities.

For areas at level 4: Sightseeing activities at tourist sites, indoor events with over 20 participants and tourism programs in these area are halted. Tourist accommodation and food service establishments in tourist sites are allowed to operate at no more than 30% of capacity at the same time; and vehicles serving tourists must not use more than 50% of the seats.
