Local residents were eager to buy a ticket and enjoy the beautiful landscapes passing by along the Saigon River. The 40-minute boat trip from Bach Dang Wharf to Linh Dong Wharf helped Kieu Anh and many other passengers once again feel the vitality of Vietnam’s southern hub, which has been hit hard by the pandemic.

The Daily Company, which runs the waterway transport route, expects to operate 12 trips at 50 percent onboard capacity initially. Passengers are required to show a QR code or a vaccination certificate declaring their travel and vaccination history, or a certificate proving they are free of COVID-19, and must strictly follow the “5K message” during the trip.

Fares remain the same as before the pandemic, at 15,000 VND per trip.

Ho Chi Minh City is also preparing to reopen several hydrofoil routes in the time to come./.
