It is the time to harvest the spring-summer rice crop and the sight of mountain people rushing to gather rice on golden terraced fields can be seen everywhere in the west of Thanh Hoa.
Currently Thanh Hoa is extremely hot, with temperatures reaching over 40 degrees Celsius in some areas, making harvesting even more difficult.
Much of the work on these terraced fields is done by hand without the support of machines, and it can be backbreaking work., and workers often have to carry their produce for up to 200 meters under the hot sun.
