This book showcases the captivating collaboration between author Trang Nguyen and artist Jeet Zdung. It takes readers on a heartfelt journey with Chang, a determined young girl who dreams of saving endangered wildlife. Through vivid storytelling and 120 exquisite watercolor paintings by Jeet Zdung, readers will discover the awe-inspiring beauty of nature and the plight of endangered animals.

These stunning paintings were created during a two-month field trip to the wilderness, capturing the essence and spirit of each animal encountered. “This book not only sheds light on the reality of endangered species but also highlights the bond between humans and wildlife, as well as the tireless efforts of conservationists,” explained Trang.

Trang hopes that this book will touch readers’ hearts, inspiring them to dream and play an active role in preserving the Earth’s vitality and protecting nature. She shared, “Amongst the stories, some may be haunting and painful, like that of Boka, the rhino who tragically fell victim to hunters seeking his horn.”

All proceeds from book sales will be dedicated towards wildlife projects in Vietnam. Trang Nguyen, also known as Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, is a passionate advocate for wildlife conservation. Born in Hanoi in 1990, she personally witnessed the illegal wildlife trade during her childhood and made a commitment to dedicate her life to protecting wildlife in Vietnam. Trang completed her PhD in Biodiversity Management at the University of Kent, England.

In 2013, Trang established WildAct, an NGO focused on monitoring illegal wildlife trade markets and providing conservation education programs for Vietnamese youth. She received a prestigious scholarship for wildlife conservation from the University of Cambridge at the age of 23. In recognition of her incredible work, Trang was included in the BBC’s list of the world’s top 100 inspiring and influential women in 2019.

As for Jeet Zdung, also known as Nguyen Tien Dung, he is a talented illustrator who has won numerous awards for his artwork. His illustrations were featured at the Wallonie – Bruxelles Delegation’s Cartoon Festival in Vietnam in 2012.

This eco-conscious book spans 120 pages and is printed on sustainable paper. It can be purchased at bookstores nationwide for VND160,000 (US$7).
