The event is one of the activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of UNESCO’s recognition of the ancient town of Hoi Ann and My Son Sanctuary as world heritage sites and the 10th anniversary of UNESCO’s recognition of Cu Lao Cham as a world biosphere reserve.
Five months since launching, the organising board has received 170 paintings and sculptures of 81 authors from many provinces and cities, such as Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Thua Thien – Hue and Da Nang. Through the selection, 100 works of high-quality art were selected to showcase at the exhibition.
With the abundance of materials and the talents and creativity of the artists, the exhibitions introduced new perspectives on the tangible and intangible cultural values of Quang Nam land as well as the conservation and promotion of the local heritage values.
On the occasion, the organising board presented nine prizes for the best works, including one A prize, two B prizes, three C prizes and three consolation prizes for artists and sculptors.
The exhibition runs until September 15.
